Day 1: Reset Your Mind with Breath and Sound

Box Breathing Technique A proven method used by Navy SEALs for stress control.

Steps:

  1. Inhale for four seconds
  2. Hold your breath for four seconds
  3. Exhale for four seconds
  4. Hold again for four seconds
  5. Repeat this five times

Why It Works:

  • Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress
  • Improves focus, relaxation, and oxygen flow

Sound Therapy: Using Music to Shift Your Mood

  1. Play soothing instrumental music or binaural beats (theta waves are ideal).
  2. Close your eyes and take deep breaths for three to five minutes.
  3. Observe how your body responds.

Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) A technique that systematically releases stored tension in muscles.

Steps:

  1. Start at your feet—tense your muscles for five seconds, then release.
  2. Move up to your legs—tense, then release.
  3. Repeat for your stomach, arms, shoulders, and jaw.

Why It Works:

  • Releases stored tension in muscles
  • Activates the relaxation response, lowering cortisol levels

Acupressure for Instant Stress Relief

  1. Locate the “Hegu” point—the fleshy area between the thumb and index finger.
  2. Apply firm pressure for 30 to 60 seconds while breathing deeply.
  3. Observe the tension easing from your body.

Gratitude Shift: Turning Stress into Strength

  1. Write down three things you are grateful for today.
  2. Feel the emotions behind them—visualize and relive those moments.
  3. End with one self-kindness affirmation:

    • “I deserve peace, and I allow myself to relax.”
